On Saturday night North Ayrshire Ice Hockey Club gathered at the Lauriston Hotel for their annual awards night for 3 of their age groups, Stars – U14s, Predators – U16s & Devils – U19s for last season 2021/2022.
Our Chairman, Scott Campbell welcomed all the players and their families saying “It’s great to be having our awards night for the first time in 3 years. Covid meant a lot of players at many clubs gave up the sport, but gladly, most of our stay and all the teams have had great seasons, particularly the Under 14s who finished the season as League Champions.”
All of our players have worked so hard this season to get back to match fitness and fine-tune their gameplay after such a long break and we are proud of each and every one of them.
First up were some under 12 players from the Penguins who, unfortunately, hadn’t been able to play in the league due to low numbers last season, these players were invited to train and play up with U14s throughout the season.

Head Coach Gary MacColl had this to say about the Stars: “I’m proud of how the team ended the season being crowned U14s League Winners after fulfilling all fixtures and only losing 1 game throughout the season. Credit goes to the kids after their hard work and determination paid off”

John Woods Memorial Trophy
Hazel Murray – For always being available and willing to help at any age group that needs a hand as well as securing the fixtures for all our teams & managing the U14’s team, not to mention being joint treasurer and tea-bar replenisher. There is not a role within the club that Hazel would help with when needed.

Alan also donated a 2hr photoshoot which the club sold hidden teams for at the awards (Thanks to Craig Crozier) raising £200 for the club. Congratulations to Ewan McCrindle on winning it.
Focus now moves onto this season, with training already underway and fixtures hitting the calendar already.
