Louisa Carslaw is the latest member of staff to complete out meet the team questions. Read on to learn more about her and her work within the business.
1. What is your name, your job role and how long have you been working for KA Leisure?
My name is Louisa Carslaw and I am the Assistant Health and Wellbeing Manager within the Active Lifestyles Team. I have worked for KA Leisure for a large part of my working career in various roles in the company and in the various centres for KA. Working within the Active Lifestyles team for the past 13years. I currently oversee several projects that sit within the Health and Wellbeing Service.
2. What made you decide you would like a job within KA?
As a child I was very active I attended the local dance school and also took part in a variety of sports. I enjoyed going to my local Leisure Centre, so naturally, I was delighted when I was offered a training position with the company whilst completing my HNC at Kilmarnock College. I furthered my education by doing a part-time Leisure management course before moving on to study with the Open University whilst working full time.
3. What do you love most about your job?
The job is really varied, and no two days are the same but what I love most about my job is seeing the real difference that physical activity can make in someone’s life. I also love working with partners to develop new initiatives and seeing the impact they make on people’s lives.
4. Can you describe a memorable experience from your time at work?
I have some fabulous memories over the years working with the company. Also made some lifelong friends.
5. Do you have any other hobbies or interests?
My hobbies include going long walks with the family, and taking part in exercise classes delivered by KA Leisure. I have just recently joined the local West of Scotland Padel Tennis Club. The club has made me feel really welcome.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a [JOB/PROFESSION] when I grew up.
That’s a good question I wanted to be a dancer. I did something similar with KA as I become and fitness instructor and loved teaching my various aerobics classes and Line dancing class
