Payroll Administrator – Permanent

Rate of Pay: £27, 590.16 – £29, 417.96 (pro-rata)

Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible)

Job Purpose

With payroll administration as your primary role, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely administrative tasks to ensure the smooth processing of payroll information. You will also provide administrative support for the wider People team including ensuring databases are up to date in line with company regulations and working as the first point of contact for all people and payroll related queries.  

General

  • Carry out all duties with complete discretion with a high regard of the need for confidentiality and in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, KA Leisure’s values, equality aims, policies and procedures,
  • Support the wider People team with ad hoc work as necessary,
  • Promote strong, effective communication to ensure that messages are understood and delivered in a timely manner,
  • Liaise with external bodies as necessary,
  • Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and customers ensuring compliance with the organisation’s policies, procedures and health and safety legislation,
  • Be an advocate for KA Leisure and promote the benefits to organisations we work with as appropriate,
  • Manage compliance and ensure corporate governance arrangements are adhered to,
  • Participate and contribute to organisational/team meetings as required.

Payroll Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for payroll related queries managing them through to resolution,
  • Process information received from line managers and People team, providing an excellent service to all customers,
  • Process and administration of all new starters, leavers and employee changes through the HR system,
  • Process all payroll information including employee expenses, mileage, jury duty, maternity/paternity leave etc
  • Process and checking of payroll timesheets to help ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time,
  • Ensure all holidays cards are regularly updated.

HR Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support in the implementation of all Company policies and procedures,
  • Maintain effective employee data storage,
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities,
  • Take meeting minutes and draft correspondence as necessary,
  • Process PVG applications and disclosure checks as required.

Any other duties and responsibilities required to effectively undertake your role.

Must be able to travel throughout North Ayrshire for work purposes, training, meetings etc. Access to own transport is essential.
