People Advisor (Fixed Term – 12 months)

Rate of Pay: £32,804.20 – £35, 921.08 (pro-rata)

Hours:  20 hours per week (flexible)

Job Purpose

Working as part of the People Team, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering top-tier HR services, offering expert guidance, and making a direct impact on creating a positive, people-centric work environment. As a People Advisor, you’ll champion essential people related initiatives, ensuring a high-quality employee experience to support the continued success of the organisation.

The role is fixed term for 12 months with the potential of becoming permanent.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Be customer focused, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery; develop and maintain effective working relationships across the business,
  • Promote strong, effective communication to ensure that messages are understood and delivered in a timely manner,
  • Provide consistent and responsive coaching, advice and guidance to managers on all Employee Relation matters, attend meetings and support with all written correspondence,
  • Monitor and analyse people related data for your centres to identify patterns and develop strategies to support performance improvements and any required changes,
  • Coach managers to strengthen their people management experience,
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of best practise, employment legislation and statutory guidance; understand and mitigate risks in line with current legislation, policies and procedures,
  • Support on HR policy development and Job Description development in-line with legislation and best practice; maintain good knowledge of developments in People Management, and Employment Law,
  • Maintain the confidentiality of Company and staff information conforming to the requirements of the Data Protection Act,
  • Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and customers ensuring compliance with the organisation’s policies, procedures and health and safety legislation,
  • Be an advocate for KA Leisure and promote the benefits to organisations we work with as appropriate,
  • Take a proactive approach to building and developing partnerships with external partners such as trade unions,
  • Any other duties and responsibilities required to effectively undertake your role.

Education and QualificationsEducated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline or relevant work experienceCommitment to Continuing Personal and Professional Development.  Relevant professional membership. 
ExperienceBackground in HR with experience gained at a similar level.Experience of partnership working with key stakeholders.  Experience in the operation of performance managementExperience of working with Trade Unions

Must be able to travel throughout North Ayrshire for work purposes, training, meetings etc. Access to own transport is essential.
