We hope everybody is doing well and keeping safe.

Following the announcement from the First Minister yesterday, it is encouraging to see that there have been significant changes announced as part of the Scottish Government’s route map as we move through and out of the current lockdown arrangements.

We also welcome the Scottish Government’s decision to allow children under the age of 18 to return to participation in outdoor sports activities as part of this current phase.

We are awaiting updated guidance from the relevant Sports Governing Bodies to allow us to assess what these changes mean for North Ayrshire and to allow us to confirm our plan of action. We will provide further information as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we are continuing to work hard behind the scenes to revise how we operate our venues to ensure that we are ready to resume indoor activities once Scottish Government confirmation is announced. Whilst we will all be disappointed that so far a more detailed timeframe was not provided, the risk of infection and spread of COVID-19 remains and the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers is our main priority.

Although we are unable to confirm dates at this stage we are planning to operate a bit differently when we do re-open, this will include the introduction of; amended opening hours, physical distancing measures, one-way systems, screens at reception, a reduction in capacity for some activities, and, the need to book in advance for all activities, as well as the installation of hand sanitising stations.

We’ve created a video which provides more information on what you can expect when you return to our venues.

In the forthcoming weeks, this will be followed up with regular updates, surveys and further videos.

We want to thank everyone for their continued patience and support.
